For this week’s pom pom critters enrichment I did bunnies in a basket. The kids were very excited about this activity because it included a very small wicket basket for their pom pom friend to live in. All in all, they turned out like this:
1 2″ pom pom
1 1 1/2″ pom pom (same color as 2″ pom pom)
1 pipe cleaner (same color or a complimentary color to the pom poms)
1 TINY pink pom pom
2 googly eyes
1 little basket (which I found on Amazon)
Step 1: Glue the 1 1/2″ pom pom to the 2″ pom pom
Step 2: Cut the pipe cleaner in to 6 pieces, making 4 pieces a little longer in the other 2; and then fold them all in half
Step 3: Glue two of the longer pipe cleaners, pointing up, to the top of the 1 1/2″ pom pom, creating the ears
Step 4: Glue the other two of the longer pipe cleaners to the bottom on the 2″ pom pom, creating the feet
Step 6: Glue thebent pipe cleaner to the upper front part of the 2″ pom pom, creating the paws
Step 7: Glue the googly eyes to the front of the 1 1/2 ” pom pom
Step 8: Glue the TINY pink pom pom right under the googly eyes to create the nose
Step 9: Glue the white 1/4″ pom pom to the back bottom part of the 2″ pom pom, creating the tail
Step 10: Wait for your bunny to dry and then place in the basket
This is a cute idea to recreate for any reason, but I am thinking of bringing back a version of it for Easter.
I have provided pictures of the bunny outside of the basket to help all with show were it all goes. Good Luck!
Thanks for reading.
